This brand I found on the internet by accident. I saw a wrist shot of one of their watches and started to search them. When I found them, I was surprised that they make good homage watches to Rolex. And also great original designs. And all watches use quality swiss quartz, mechanical and also Seiko automatic movements. No Chinese movements. And all watches are made in Italy.
The company has a long going history, they make watches from 1897, but only recently the brand got revived by the Massimilliano Ceccaci. Yes, he wears the family surname proudly! For more info go to Ceccacci Vintage II chronograph review there you will find pictures and more detailed history of Ceccacci.
So today we’re looking at Ceccacci Marine diver watch. When the watches came (exactly, they sent me two watches, the other one will get it’s review soon too) they were gift wrapped, very Italian. I think this is the best watch presentation so far. THE BEST! This means they care about every client, and they make sure they have the best presentation you can imagine. When I saw the boxes I was really surprised!
Opening the box, the first you see is Italian flag. The watch is wrapped in the Italian flag. You open the flag and you see the Marine. First impressions were good. The case, dial, and overall presentation, everything screamed quality! Definitely the best unboxing of a watch I had. In the box, you get the watch, Italian flag, and certificate of authenticity. Usually, you get these kinds of papers for higher end watches so it’s nice to see these kinds of things in lower price watches.
So let’s start. The Marine. It’s basically a homage to Rolex Submariner. Maybe not directly, but definitely inspired by it. The case is looking good. The case is made from 316L stainless steel. The water resistance is 200m (10ATM). The sides of the case are polished, which kind of for me looks not good, I know that this isn’t professional diver’s watch, but this to me is a tool watch and I would the side to be brushed. Otherwise, I like the shape of the case. The brushing on other surfaces is ok’ish.
The dial is looking good. It’s classic divers dial, with round hour indicators and these type of hands. Everything is very crisp and is very easy to read. The lume could be better as it isn’t long lasting, but It works ok. The crystal is mineral with cyclops on 3 o’clock, but it’s ok for this price point, of course, it would be better if it was sapphire. The bezel action is good and doesn’t have the wobbly effect like many other watches I tested in this price range. I like this bezel colours, the watch guys call this the “Coca-Cola” version.
This watch comes only with the bracelet. This really disappointed, because the bracelet looks like taken from another watch. The bracelet is more polished, so would suit the watch if it has a polished case. But otherwise it’s a good quality bracelet, not the best, but it does its job. The buckle also could be a bit better. But I just swapped the bracelet for nice cheapestnatostraps.com nato strap. But I need to remind you that the lug size is 19mm.
The movement is Seiko automatic movement. I don’t know which particular movement this is, but I guess that it Seiko NH35, which is a great movement. The movement is good and reliable. I have it in several of my watches and it works great. Haven’t had any problems with it. It winds very smooth.
Overall it’s a great piece for the price. Of course, it has some problems, but you can always order a bracelet from eBay or put it on a leather strap. I say grab it while you can! The price is good for an homage, and it’s made in Italy. Also, this is a brand with some history going back to 1900s. It cares about clients as you can see from the box, presentation, and the whole experience. You get only positive emotions by owning this brand and buying their watches.
